Hair Extensions Hand-Tied Wefts or Machine Wefts

One of the questions that gets asked repeatedly is "should I use hand-tied weft hair extensions or machine weft hair extensions?"  I say use what you and your hair stylist if comfortable with.  I prefer the hand tied wefts but I am in Los Angeles, California where most hair stylist routinely use hand-tied wefts.  I find that most hair weavers know how to work with machine wefts but not all weavologist are comfortable sewing in hand tied wefts.

What is the difference between hand tied wefts and machine weft weaves?

1. Machine Wefts are made using a sewing machine.  The machine wefts are more sturdy and can be cut without much shedding or raveling.

2.  Hand Tied Wefts are micro wefts. 

The hand-tied wefts are thinner and less detectable.  The hand tied weft is made by hand and not using a sewing machine.  Hand tied wefts tend to ravel once the weft is cut.  If cutting hand tied weft it is important to seal the cut weft with some sort of clear liquid super glue.  This will prevent the weft from raveling.  You can also create a new knot after cutting the hand-tied weft.

Due to the work involved Hand tied wefts are priced higher than machine wefts hair weaves.
