This week, L’Oreal had been receiving some negative press for a commercial featuring UK celebrity Cheryl Cole talking about how strong and full of life their products have made her hair. The only problem is that she’s obviously wearing hair extensions the ad. Some critics say that wearing hair extensions in a hair product advertisement is misleading. The ad does flash a two second message that the singer’s hair was styled with natural hair extensions. Still, there were several complaints.
So what’s the big deal? Beyonce had been starring in L’Oreal ads for years and she wears hair extensions all the time. In fact, it’s a well know industry secret that just about any hair product ad uses hair extensions on its models to give them fuller, longer looks. This includes actresses like Scarlet Johansson and Sarah Jessica Parker.
Besides, if premium human hair extensions need to washed and styled in the exact same way that the hair on your head does. Using quality products can prolong the life of your hair extensions.
So what do you think? Is it false advertisement for hair models to use hair extensions or for celebrities like Cheryl Cole and Beyonce to be spokeswomen for hair products when they obviously use hair extensions?
